Many of you may remember the dogs we pulled from a cruelty case, and specifically the heartbreaking images of our beautiful German Shepherd, Bretagne. She was in absolutely horrible condition when she landed with us, defeated and lacking the will to even look up.

Kristine Parkins Stokes gave this incredible girl a reason to look to the sky, and bask in the sunshine. Over time she healed physically with the help of Melrose Animal Hospital, and then more importantly - she started to heal emotionally.

Today, we celebrate her adoption as the last of our three dogs from that particular cruelty case (shout out to Nikki and Riley who were already adopted).

We cannot find the perfect homes for these special souls without our volunteers, thank you to Jana Andrews for helping screen applicants to ensure Bretagne landed exactly where she belongs. And so much gratitude for the travel taken on by Bretagne’s adopter, Sarah Ashley, who was willing to do whatever it took to meet her and bring her home for good.
