A Sweet Senior Whose Owner Died

Poor sweet senior Allie found herself alone and scared in the boarding facility at Palm Valley Veterinary Center after her owner went into hospice. Her family asked for help, and Dr. Mack reached out to FUR. While we were working on a plan, her owner passed away.

Long-term boarding is tough under the best of circumstances, but it is especially difficult for a 16 year old dog like Allie. It was confusing and scary. We had a false start on a foster plan, and when that didn't work out, Valerie and Brad Losego took her in to foster. Thank you Sandi Galloway and Nancye Frank for doing the home visits, and thank you Green Dog Spa for making her look and feel amazing.

We're excited to share that Allie has been adopted by Amber and Steven. She'll spend the rest of her days being loved and spoiled. Her family had one special request. They asked that when the time comes, hopefully sometime far into the future, if they could get Allie's ashes back to reunite with their father. Allie's new adopters graciously agreed. Thank you Palm Valley Veterinary Center for all you did to help this sweet girl.

Here's to Allie's golden years in a warm and loving home. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
