Scout: A Dog in Danger in a Crowded Shelter

Scout was in danger in the crowded shelter Bradford county. He is super sweet, people friendly and dog friendly, and he has such a good personality that they used him as a ‘dog tester’ at the shelter. Unfortunately, he was one of several dogs who waited in the shelter week after week, always overlooked and hoping for a miracle.

Thankfully, he had a dedicated group of people advocating for him and networking him. Kelly Thomas, Tracy DelloRusso Collins, Rene Richmond and Lynda Gridley tirelessly networked these dogs. Danielle Kysela heard about Scout, and she offered to foster him. Susan Merrill, Valeria Losego and Jana Andrews worked to coordinate behind the scenes, and a plan came together. Rachel Kor Long, who adopted Taco Mama and Simon (also a Bradford alum) from FUR, went to the shelter to pick him up and bring him to his new foster home.

Scout is thrilled to be in his new foster home, getting spoiled and starting his new life. Thank you to everyone who worked to get this sweet boy safe! 𝗙𝗨𝗥 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗬 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 Sick and injured animals need help fast. Every donation helps, but Monthly donors give us flexibility to respond immediately when there is an emergency. When there is a hoarding case or a hurricane, a dog with a gunshot wound or a cruelty case, we have to act quickly. We don't have time to do a fundraiser, and wait for those funds to get to us. Your monthly donation can help us save lives again and again. To learn more about the FUR Monthly Giving Program, please visit:
